No special talks held between Ahmadinejad, Putin

( Irna ) - No special talks were held between President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, prior to the second summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states here Tuesday morning.

The presidents of five Caspian Sea littoral states attended the day-long summit exchanging views on how to find a way for fair use by all neighboring states of the sea's natural resources.

Some media reports claimed that the Iranian and Russian presidents held held special talks prior to the summit.

According to IRNA reporter present at the venue of the summit, the two presidents had only a short friendly chat after an official welcoming ceremony this morning.

The two presidents are expected to hold talks on issues of mutual interest on Tuesday afternoon, added the reporter.

The participants of the summit signed a 25-article declaration and a statement at the end of their day-long summit in Tehran on Tuesday.

Speaking at a joint press conference after the summit, they called the gathering as "positive."
