President Ahmadinejad dismisses reports on FM resignation

( Irna ) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed on Wednesday recent reports on the alleged resignation of Foreign Minister manouchehr Mottaki.

Speaking to reporters at the end of a cabinet session, the president said, "The issue of resignation is in no way discussed." President Ahmadinejad further stressed, "Mr Mottaki does his everyday work very energetically and, today he was present in the cabinet session from the start to the end."

"Mr. Mottaki appointed his deputy last night and since then a psychological war has been triggered," said the president.

A number of domestic and foreign media reported this morning that the Iranian foreign minister has resigned from his post.

The reports were later rejected by both the foreign minister and his deputy, Mohammad-Ali Shahidi.
