Iran’s Embassy in Baku Appeals for Incident in  Persian Gulf not to be Exaggerated

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Ramazanova / Iran's Embassy in Baku states that the incident which took place with the US military ship in Persian Gulf is not 'extra-ordinary', the Embassy's press service reported, commenting on the incident which Washington describes as provocation by the Iranian ships.

"Nothing strange took place in the clash between the patrol boat and US ship," the Embassy stated.

According to the statement by the Pentagon, which described the incident as a most serious provocation, on the morning of 6 January, five Iranian ships in Ormuz Strait moved forward aggressively, forcing three military boats BMC of the USA to maneuver and threatened to blow them up.

Iran's embassy stated that such incidents have taken place previously and should not be exaggerated.

The White House called upon Iran to stop such provocative actions in order to avoid dangerous incidents in the future.
