Iran ready to consider exchange of nuclear fuel: Iranian FM

Iran is prepared to consider with the opposite side the exchange of nuclear fuel for the Tehran reactor, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was quoted as saying by the Iranian IRNA news agency.

Mottaki said Tehran's desire to exchange fuel on the Kish Island indicates Iran's favorable position and is a favorable factor for the opposite side.

"We do not compel the opponents to accept the proposal on exchange of fuel on the Kish Island," he said. "We just want to resume the dialogue with the Western countries."

So far, Iran has not received a response to this proposal, he added.

"Iran had responded to the Western countries," Mottaki stated earlier in connection with the "hype" because of lack of response to a question about Iran's fuel supplied by western countries for the Tehran reactor. He added that Iran is willing to exchange 400 kilograms of uranium on the Kish Island.
