Police arrested three people in connection with murder of the prosecutor, Iranian Hoi City Executive Head Ibrahim Mohammad was quoted as saying by the Iranian Mehr News agency.
An investigation is underway, he said adding that the prosecutor will be buried tomorrow.
A prosecutor killed in Hoi was threatened by thePejak terrorist group several days before his murder, Western Azerbaijan Iranian Province Chief Prosecutor Mohammed Muosavi said earlier.
Valiullah Haji Gulizade actively fought against counterrevolutionary groups in the country. He was likely murdered by Pejak as a result, Muosavi said.
Several men opened fire on Gulizade in front of his home in a drive-by shooting.
The Pejak terrorist group took the responsibility for the murder of the prosecutor, Mehr reported.
