Karroubi recognizes of Ahmadinejad's government
Iranian Reformist National Confidence Party Secretary General oppositionist Mehdi Karroubi said that he officially recognizes of Ahmadinejad's government, FARS agency reported
"I have my own target for criticism, but I must say that I officially recognize Ahmadinejad as the president," Karroubi said. He was responding to the question: Do you recognize officially the president, elected by the Iranian people?
According to Karroubi's son Hussein Karroubi, Fars agency distorted his father's speech
"In fact, my father said: I am sure and believe that falsifications were occurred during the elections, the electoral process aroused suspicion, and I still stand by that opinion. I believe some intervention in the election results. However, as Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamnei recognizes Ahmadinejad as president, I also recognize him as the president," Hussein Karroubi said in an interview to the parlamentnews web-site
After the June 12 presidential elections in Iran, the opposition announced rigging the voting results. Reformist candidates Mir Hussein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi have reported extensive fraud in the elections. Observers say the protests, which began in Iran after the elections have become the largest since the 1979 Islamic revolution. They arrested hundreds of political activists and killed dozens of civilians.
