Deputy President: Industrial production volume increased by 8 percent in Iran

Industrial production volume in Iran increased by 8 percent last year (a year begins in Iran March 21), while there is industrial depression in Western countries, the first deputy president and spokesman for the Iranian government Mohammadrza Rahimi said, ILNA news agency reported.

He added that last year was successful for Iran in terms of the international relations in the economic sphere. The Iranian side managed to sign agreements with several countries about the development of economic relations.

As to Iran's nuclear program Rahimi said that nothing new has happened. "We announced about the peaceful nature of nuclear research. We do not intend to produce nuclear weapons," he said.

He pointed out that Iran is ready to accept proposals about a reasonable price from any country to provide a nuclear reactor in Tehran with 20-percent uranium.

"Some countries have accepted our proposal, but then refused, he said. The government has decided to enrich uranium to 20 percent in the country.
