Iran has prepared a response to a recent letter from the Vienna Group despite the fact that the uranium exchange agreement recently signed with Turkey and Brazil "does not fall within the competency of the organization," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanaparast said at a weekly press conference, the ILNA news agency reported.

He added that the response will be sent in the near future.

Mehmanaparast stressed that Brazil and Turkey still intend to act as negotiators between Iran and the international community.

Iran and Turkey signed an agreement to exchange 1,200 kilograms of low enriched uranium for 20-percent fuel in Turkey May 17.

International Atomic Energy Agency General Director Yukiya Amano handed an official letter from the Vienna Group regarding the agreement to Iranian Ambassador at the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltaniyyeh June 9.
