Iran has more than 900,000 child bride

According to official statistics more than 950,000 children are married in Iran, while 85 percent are girls.

The official sources indicates 900,000 to 950,000married children in the county is in contrary to international convention of child rights,  Child Activist Mohammad Bonyadzadeh was quoted as saying by ILNA.

Bonyadzadeh noted unofficial statistics show other realities regarding the issue.

He added "on one hand law recognized under 11 as childe with no power to chose or think and rules down their ability to vote in election but on the other hand the age of marriage in the country is defined between 9 to 13."

Member of childe right group said "the age of children on vote issues is according to international law but on labour area children between 15 to 18 work on specific conditions where their interests stay un notice and there is no supervision on hard childe labour."

According to childe activist "unfortunately little girls should play role of wife and instead of education or child play she will be responsible as a house wife and child brides face fatal risks of pregnancy which brings heavy risks and side effects for mother and child."
