An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted the Chabahar town in the Sistan- Baluchestan province of Iran today, IRNA reported.
The Seismological Center under the Tehran University's Geophysics Institute registered the quake at 07:27 local time in the Umman Sea.
There are no reports on the number of possible casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
