France says political resolution to Iran issue still open

France restated that the way of dialogue concerning Iran nuclear issue wasn't closed yet though Europe is considering sanction measures, French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said Friday in regular press briefing, Xinhua reported.
He said foreign ministers of the European Union would hold a meeting in Brussels on Monday to discuss a series of measures in relation to Iran's long-disputed nuclear program based on the 1929 resolution adopted by the Security Council of the United Nations.
"There will also be a callback of the EU to seek diplomatic solutions to concerned Iran issue," Valero said, adding that the EU would remind Iran that it always has the path of negotiation.
He stressed that France was not alone in protesting "sanctions that could affect the daily lives of Iranian citizens."
While admitting some sanction ideas are formed, which are not limited in oil trade, the spokesman underlined the path of dialogue is never closed and that it's for Iranians to engage in the domain.
Besides oil trade control, the potential EU-wide sanction would also take high-tech sectors, financial channels and transport into consideration during the upcoming EU foreign ministers meeting, Valero disclosed.
The package is expected to be unveiled on Monday after 27 ministers and Catherine Ashton, EU's first High Representative of Foreign Affairs, decided ways to demonstrate EU political determination over Iran nuclear issue.
