Iranian President: Impossible to govern revolutionary nation with democratic models
It is impossible to examine the Islamic community with a materialistic thinking, and a revolutionary nation cannot be governed with democratic models, MEHR news agency quotes Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Earlier Ahmadinejad said in his speech July 13 that "as a result of emergence of various groups a whole number of values of the Islamic Revolution is lost. There is only one party in our system, and it is the "Velayat" party.
Ahmadinejad's remarks were met with a sharp reaction of the opposition forces' heads. A candidate and Ahmadinejad's rival for the past presidential election Mir Hossein Mousavi compared the President's words with Shah's words said 30 years ago, stressing that it is illegal. He recalled Iran's last Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi's words, said before the revolution that there is only one party in Iran and this is "Rastahiz" party created by the Shah.
