Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said on Tuesday that Tehran does not pay attention to remarks made by US authorities, IRNA reported.
He made the remarks in reaction to the recent statement made by Admiral Michael Mullen, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff on the US military attack on the Islamic Republic.
Mullen had told media that the US had a plan to attack Iran if needed to prevent the Islamic Republic from getting nuclear weapons.
Mehman-Parast told IRNA that "we should not pay attention to the US military official's remarks".
Such remarks are because of their special state of instability, anger and frustration stemmed from their numerous failures in the region, the spokesman reiterated.
