"We have the highest-speed rocket carrier in the world, and we will begin mass production after installing missile systems and torpedoes on these vehicles," Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps Naval Commander, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi was quoted as saying today by the Fars news agency.
He added that Iran purchased the carrier 1.5 years ago from Europe. The vehicle participates in international competitions, Fadavi said.
"The vehicle is not designed for military purposes, but in Iran we have modified the craft and installed rocket launchers. We will start mass production by 2011," he said.
The craft can reach 140 kilometers per hour.
