President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday declared for implementation a law according to which the government is obliged to continue enriching nuclear fuel up to the purity level of 20 percent to power medical reactor, Tehran Times reported.
The law on "preserving peaceful nuclear achievements" had been previously ratified by the Majlis and endorsed by the Guardian Council.
The law calls for the government to invest in technical nuclear fields in order to attain self-sufficiency.
According to the approval, the government will also have to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency only within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty regulations.
