The Minister of Internal Affairs of Pakistan, Rehman Malik on Saturday night began a visit to Iran, Iranian state television IRINN reported.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Pakistan, Rehman Malik on Saturday night began a visit to Iran, Iranian state television IRINN reported.

The main purpose of the visit is to discuss issues of security and control of common border.

According to Iranian media, as a result of floods in Pakistan a lot of refugees try to cross the border with Iran.

Rehman Malik will meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Foreign Minister Monuchehr Mottaki, his Iranian counterpart, Mostafa Najjar, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.

In the coming days, Mustafa Najjar, head of Red Cross Society of Iran, government officials will visit the territory of Pakistan affected by the floods.

The last time the Minister of Internal Affairs of Pakistan, Rehman Malik visited Iran in 2008.
