Spokesman: IAEA Report Substantiates Peaceful Nature of Iran's N. Activities

The latest report released by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran endorsed the peaceful nature of our country's nuclear moves and program for the 23rd time, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast stressed in Tehran on Tuesday, FARS reported.

"For the 23rd time, the IAEA Director-General underlined in his report that no diversion has been detected in Iran's peaceful nuclear activities,'' Mehman-Parast told reporters in a weekly press conference in Tehran.

The foreign ministry presser stressed that Iran has had "very good" cooperation with the agency and, as a member of the agency, has thoroughly abided by its commitments.

"All Iran's peaceful nuclear activities are under the agency's supervision and under the 24-hour watch of its (IAEA) cameras," Mehman-Parast reminded.

Meantime, the spokesman stressed that parts of the report are politically tainted and lack technical logic, and added, "The agency is expected to focus on technical issues and (stay within) the framework of its mission."

"The agency should respect its technical status within the framework defined for the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty)," Mehman-Parast stated.
