Drug in the amount of eight kilograms was seized from 480 of 400,000 Iranian pilgrims, going to Mecca, Iranian İrinn.ir news channel's website quotes the Iranian airport's poilice chief, General Nabiullah Heydari as reporting.
He said in 2009 drug was seized from 107 Iranian pilgrims.
Law enforcement agencies of Iran and Saudi Arabia seriously combat drug smuggling, especially during the Hajj period, the general said.
