Nuclear electricity will be generated in Iran's first nuclear power plant in Bushehr within three months, Vice-President and Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said Tuesday, IRNA reported.

Salehi made the remarks in a meeting with the power plant's staff at the end of a ceremony to start fuel injection operations to the core of the 1,000-MW power plant's reactor in southern Iran.

'We hope that nuclear electricity would enter the national grid within the next three months,' Salehi told the gathering.

He referred to the power plant as 'one of the most sensitive nuclear power plants in the world.'

The power plant was built with the help of Russian experts.

Salehi appreciated the efforts of the Iranian and Russian experts who were involved in the construction of Iran's first nuclear power plant.

He said optimistically that more nuclear power plants would be built in the country after the inauguration of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.

The power plant would be physically put on stream once the nuclear fuel installation operations are successfully completed.
