An earthquake measuring 3.9 degrees on Richter open scale shook vicinity of Tabas in Iran's Yazd Province Wednesday night, IRNA reported.

According to IRNA, the Country's Seismography Network, affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University recorded the quake at 22:23:56 hours local time (16: 54:56 GMT).

The geographical epicenter of the quake was at 33.22 degrees longitude and 57.44 degrees latitude.

There has still been no reports on the material, or human losses due to the moderate quake, although due to the population scarcity and long distance between residential areas in the quake region there have most probable been, God willing, little to no casualties and losses, save for Tabs City itself, whose houses and other city structures have been made quake resistance following the killer quake about four decades ago.
