'Iran's defense industry to serve region'
Iran's ambassador to Manama says the Islamic Republic's defense industry achievements are at the service of the security of regional countries, including Bahrain, Press TV reported.
Mehdi Aqa-Jafari made the remark in a meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) General Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Mehr news agency reported Wednesday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations in various areas, including defense cooperation.
Aqa-Jafari said that the Islamic Republic welcomed defense-related ties as well as official visits of military significance between the two countries.
The Bahraini official also hailed relations with Iran and added that his country embraces defense and military cooperation with Tehran.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is a friend, brother and neighboring country and we demand the best possible ties with [our] brother country Iran in all areas," he emphasized.
The general also stressed that Bahrain would not allow other countries to damage ties between Manama and Tehran.
