Iran pavilion among top 10 at Shanghai expo
The Islamic Republic of Iran's pavilion was among ten top pavilion's of the Shanghai's Expo 2010, the Iran-China joint chamber of commerce's director said here on Wednesday.
ILNA News Agency quoted Asadollah Asgaroladi as saying that, "Iran's pavilion was the 4th most visited pavilion."
"In the six month period over 7.5 million people visited Iran's pavilion which accounts for 11 percent of the whole visitor's of the event," he added.
"Iran's exports to China raised by 20-30 percent during the expo," Asgaroladi explained.
According to the official 75 Iranian investors were sent to Shanghai during the event and signed memorandums of understanding with Chinese tradespersons.
"Also over $26 million worth of hand-made carpets were sold during the expo," he added.
Expo 2010 Shanghai China was a world expo in the tradition of international fairs.
The theme of the exposition was "Better City - Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as the "next great world city."
It was the most expensive and largest world fair ever at 5.28 square km.
More than 190 countries and over 50 international organizations had registered in the Shanghai World Expo.
The show ended on October 31, 2010.
