Iranian President: Capitalism nears collapse

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the capitalist system is nearing its collapse, stressing the importance of establishing a world based on justice, Press TV reported.

"Iran and Zimbabwe can play an active role in establishing a new global order based on justice and friendship given the common stance between the two countries on important regional and international issues," said President Ahmadinejad in a Saturday meeting with Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi in Tehran, IRNA reported.

The Iranian president also urged Tehran and Harare to make use of capacities to promote mutual and regional cooperation.

"The expansion of cooperation and economic exchanges between Iran and Zimbabwe in different fields will favor the interests of the two nations and regional countries," he said.

The Zimbabwean minister, for his part, expressed his country's determination to use all potentials to enhance relations.

He said Harare shares common stance with Tehran on key regional and international issues and seeks to strengthen political and economic cooperation with Iran.

The expansion of relations with African countries in all political, economic and cultural fields is among the top priorities of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy.

President Ahmadinejad paid an official two-leg visit to Zimbabwe in April during which senior Iranian and Zimbabwean authorities signed 11 memoranda of understanding on tourism, education, transportation, technology and removing bureaucratic restrictions, such as visa requirements.

Tehran and Harare also agreed to form joint ventures in the scientific, agricultural and technical sectors.
