Passenger attempts to hijack airplane carrying out Tehran-Damascus flight (UPDATE)

This morning an attempt to hijack an airplane carrying out Tehran-Damascus was committed at the Iranian Airport, Iranian FARS news agency reports.
According to the information, one of the passengers of the airplane, whose identity is not disclosed yet, threatening the flight crew with cold arms and a bomb placed on the airplane's board, demanded to change the route of the airplane. As a result of intervention of the security forces he was arrested.
No bomb was revealed on board when inspecting the airplane.
As a result of the incident no one was hurt. The airplane continued the flight on the set route and without delay landed at the Damascus Airport.
According to the "Iran Air" Airline spokesman Shahrukh Nushabadi, the passenger who attempted to hijack the airplane, was mentally unwell.
