Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast rejected here on Wednesday the UAE illegal claim over possession of the three Iranain islands comprising Abu Musa, Greater and Lesser Tunbs located in the Persian Gulf, IRNA reported.
Mehmanparast said the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the 31st Persian Gulf Cooperation Council meeting have recently released statements on illegal possession of the Iranian islands which Iran rejects all.
'These three islands have belonged to the Islamic Republic of Iran from the beginning and for ever,' the Foreign Ministry spokesman said, underlining that repetition of any false claim over possessing them will not affect Iran's ownership and never help ensuring security in the region.
Mehmanparast further said Iran is ready to hold constructive talks with the UAE officials on strengthening bilateral relations.
