Iranian Official says fuel swap can be negotiated

Assistant Secretary of Supreme National Security Council, in evaluating Istanbul Talks, said the issue of exchanging fuel can be negotiated in case of reciprocal cooperation, IRNA reported.

In an interview with Iranian television, Ali Baqeri said that European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton had proposed that for having an achievement in this meeting, it is better to conclude the issue of exchanging fuel.

He said that the issue of exchanging fuel can only be discussed under cooperation circumstances and if the other side does not believe in cooperation, the issue would not be discussed.

Concerning the method of negotiation of Group 5+1 with Iran, Baqeri said that they had no logical and legal reasons and sending IAEA report to the UN Security Council did not follow the legal procedures of the agency.

He called negotiation team of the G5+1 as monopolistic and said that one of the basic motives of the G 5+1 negotiation with Iran was monopolizing science, knowledge for themselves.

Baqeri said that the talks can continue in the future and there would be no obstacle in this way, of course we should give an opportunity to the G 5+1 to reach a conclusion for cooperation with Iran.
