Iran hails Nazarbayev's re-election
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has congratulated the re-election of his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev for another presidential term, Press TV reported.
In a message on Wednesday, Ahmadinejad expressed hope that the two nations would strengthen their cooperation in international arenas, IRNA reported.
Ahmadinejad also "wished prosperity and success" for the Kazakh nation and government.
Nazarbayev won another 5-year mandate in the presidential election by obtaining 95.5 percent of votes in the April 3 polls.
The margin of Nazarbayev's victory marks an improvement on the 91.2 percent he picked up in his last re-election victory in 2005.
