A strong tremor measuring 5.3 on Richter scale jolted Kahnouj in Iran's mid-south province of Kerman on Wednesday morning, IRNA reported.
According to the report of seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 05:35 hours local time ( 01:05 hours GMT) and its epicenter was at 27.78 degrees latitude and 57.77 degrees longitude.
There is no immediate report on possible casualties or damage.
