The Iranian Parliament did not confirm Hamid Sajjadi's nomination for the post of the Minister of Youth and Sports. Sajjadi was nominated by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, parlemannews.com reported.

The parliament considered Sajjadi's nomination and submitted it for the vote. Sajjadi received 87 in support of the nomination, 137 against, and 23 abstentions. Some 247 MPs partook in the voting .

Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani appealed to the president to submit a new candidate for the post of Youth and Sports Minister.

Ahmadinejad presented Sajjad's candidacy for the post of the minister of youth and sports to the Presidium of the Iranian parliament on June 14.

Having combined the National Organizations of Youth and Sports in January, Iranian parliament has approved a law establishing the Youth and Sports Ministry. But despite the approval of the law on the supervisory board, Ahmadinejad's government delayed its execution.
