Iran's electricity export increases by 25 percent

Iran's electricity export to neighboring countries from the start of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21, 2011) up to now has increased by 25 percent, ILNA reported.

Iran's electricity export 3,471 Giga Watts per hour the past six months, indicating a 25.29 percent increase over the same period of the last Iranian year (ended on March 20, 2011).

After the removal of subsides the rate of power consumption in the country reduced and offering favorable export opportunities.

Iran exports electricity to Armenia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan (to Nakhchivan), Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan.
