IRI FM congratulates Tunisians on beginning of new chapter in their history

IRI Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi in a message to his Tunisian counterpart Muhammad al-Muwalledi al-Kafi on elections of Founding National Council congratulated opening of a new chapter in history of Tunisian nation, IRNA reported.

IRI Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi in a message to his Tunisian counterpart Muhammad al-Muwalledi al-Kafi on elections of Founding National Council congratulated opening of a new chapter in history of Tunisian nation, IRNA reported.

According to the dispatched IRNA reporters to Tunisia, the message which was dispatched by the official Tunisian news agency, TAP, on Monday night local time, reads in part, "The elections of the Tunisian Founding National Council is a move worth praising and grandeur."

In this message the "organizing of the first democratic post-revolution election, particularly since people of all walks of life and supporters of various political parities have participated in it", is referred to as, "The generator of hope for the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Tunisian nation."

Salehi has meanwhile announced Iran's full readiness for expansion of opportunities for cooperation and strengthening the bonds of comprehensive relations with Tunisia.

The 217-seat, fate-making Founding National Council Elections of Tunisia, whose main duty is compiling the new Constitution of the 2nd Republic of Tunisia, and devising the roadmap for the political structure of that North African country was held on October 23rd, 2011, at 27 constituencies throughout the country.

The Islamic Al-Nihzah (The Movement) Party won 90 seats, and the majority of the Founding National Council of Tunisia in that election, and is scheduled to establish the Coalition National Unity Government of Tunisia in collaboration with members of its political partner parties.
