Iran's Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said Tuesday that he is planned to take part in a conference on Afghanistan to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, IRNA reported.

"I'm to attend the conference because President Ahmadinejad has advised me to do so," said Salehi during a joint press briefing with his Ghanaian counterpart Muhammed Mumuni.

He added the Islamic Republic of Iran will cooperate with both neighboring states and the international community if they make any efforts to bring stability to Afghanistan.

He then hoped the Istanbul conference would be in Afghans' interests.
Asked about the latest developments in the Fordow site, Salehi said all issues related to that site are well progressing.

About any further details on the Fordow site, Salehi said it would be better to ask them from the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).

On a letter from US officials that received by the Iranian government, the foreign minister said: "We received the correspondence that included contradictory statements...baseless as usual.

"They were keen to hold talks on the issue, but there were no important thing in their letter; however, we have replied to them" said Salehi.

The Iranian foreign minister also informed the reporters of his travel to Libya and conferring with officials of the National Transitional Council in that country.
