Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated Almazbek Atambayev on his victory in the presidential election, KirTAG reported on Wednesday.
"I sincerely congratulate you on your election as the Kyrgyz president. Iran's support to the political process in Kyrgyzstan and the mutual interest of the new Kyrgyz government in developing relations with Iran have created favourable conditions for expansion of mutual relations in all fields. I hope that we will witness further development and strengthening of relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, "the message reads.
"Taking this opportunity, I pray to God for health and success, as well as the welfare and happiness of the fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan," Mr Ahmadinejad said.
