Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran is ready for all-out cooperation with Russia to maintain peace and security in region, ISNA reported.
Salehi met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov and discussed mutual, regional and international relations.
Salehi stressed Iran's readiness to hold talks and expand cooperation on mutual and regional issues.
As to Russia's role and position Salehi added, "Russia can play a fundamental role to maintain peace and stability in the region and we are ready for all-out cooperation in this regard."
Bogdanov on his part said, "We are willing to boost cooperation with Iran. We will continue our regional cooperation under the framework of regional organizations including Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
