Iran may do oil bartering with some countries, Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi said, adding that the country has so far not used this method in oil trade.

Iran currently sells oil to China in euro and dollar, the minister said, emphasizing that the country will not sell oil on discount prices, Mehr news agency reported.

He insisted on the Islamic Republic's peaceful nuclear activities and added that the country will not retreat from its goals even if it has not a barrel of oil for exports.

Earlier this month, Mr Qasemi said that less than 20 percent of Iran's oil exports are destined for Europe, adding that the sanctions will take their toll on the European people and will not create a problem for Iran's oil exports even if exports to Europe are halted.

The European Union formally imposed an oil embargo on Iran and agreed to a freeze on the assets of the Central Bank of Iran on January 23, but existing contracts will be honored until July 1.
