Iranian state-run bodies owe $45 billion to banking system

State-run companies and organisations in Iran owed some 550 trillion rials (around $45 billion) to the banking system in the past calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2011. This is over a 51 per cent rise compared to its preceding year.
Statistics indicate that the outstanding dues of state-run entities to the banking system have nearly doubled during the past four years, Fars news agency reported.
According to the report, the private sector's debt to the banking system amounted to $238 billion in the past calendar year.
