Labor minister: Worker wages to grow by 18 percent

Iranian workers' salaries will increase by at least 18 percent, the Donya-e-eqtesad website reports.

The High Council on Labor set workers' minimum montly wages for the Iranian year at 3.8 million rials (about $317) a month. Employees' representatives wanted a 42 percent wage hike while employers pushed for a 12 percent increase.

Members of the council strongly criticized the government for its import policies and the weakening of domestic production.

The government recommended an 18 percent way hike too.
