Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that the Islamic Republic of Iran will support any UN Security Council's resolution which does not violate Syria's sovereignty, IRNA reported.

Mehmanparast made the remarks Thursday in reaction to a recent statement by the UNSC concerning Syria.

'Islamic Republic of Iran will support any plan which guarantees the demands of the Syrian nation and the implementation of reforms as announced by the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Syrian officials, as well as bringing stability and peace to Syria and paving the way for national unity dialogue in that country,' he added.

Mehmanparast also emphasized on settling the present situation of Syria through diplomacy and avoiding any interfering measures and taking any hasty decisions.

The UN Security Council in a statement issued on Wednesday (March 21, 2012) unanimously voted to ending Syria's critical conditions and putting an end to violence in that country.

The Statement also supported a plan by the UN special envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan for resolving Syria's critical conditions through diplomacy.
