Nearly two million investors bought stocks in Iran's markets last year, which is of slightly more than 114 percent over the year before, Mehr news agency reports.
Last year (Iran's solar year ended on March 20), more than 1.8 million investors bought stocks in Iran's stock market compared to the nearly 854,000 investors in the previous year.
In 2011-2012, stockholders traded almost 73.2 billion stocks worth more than $18 billion.
The overall stock index grew by 2,610 units, from 23,294 to 25,905, increasing by 11.2 percent.
