Sanctioned Iran: Specialists produce more unobtainable equipment

Iranian specialists have domestically produced a piece of equipment needed to regulate gas pressure.

Until recently Iran had to import control boards for compressed air dryers which are needed by the National Iranian Gas Transmission Company (NIGC) to regulate gas pressure, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports.

In the face of international sanctions that have taken away Iran's ability to import equipment and parts for its industries, the Islamic Republic is working to domestically produce what it needs to keep operating.

Five NIGC District 6 specialists have worked on the control boards which will save the Iranian gas transmission Company $9.8 million.

Iran's economy is under increasing pressure from international sanctions levied against its oil industry and the Central Bank because of the country's nuclear development programme. The sanctions make it nearly impossible for Iran to conduct financial transactions and move money around the globe and to do business with foreign countries.
