Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi held talks with Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yılmaz in Tehran on Thursday, with the main topic of increasing exports of Iranian gas to its neighboring country.

The Iranian side will review the issue of increasing gas exports to Turkey, the Shana news agency quoted Qasemi as saying.

Yılmaz said for his part that an Iranian delegation will travel to Turkey for further negotiations with Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz.

The third section of the 6th cross country gas pipeline of Iran, which is aimed to export natural gas to Europe via Turkey, is around 48 percent complete, Alireza Gharibi, the managing director of Iran's Gas Engineering and Development Company, said.

The project will cost €970 million, of which €770 million will be secured by a foreign company.

The third section of the pipeline will be 629 kilometers in length, he noted. Once the pipeline comes on stream, it will have the capacity to transfer 100 million cubic meters of gas per day.
