Early in the morning today, Iranian Fars province has been hit by two earthquakes, IRIB News reported.

Both quakes happened in Ahel - a city in Eshkanan District, Lamerd County in Iranian Fars province.

First quake measuring at 5,3 on a Richter scale occured approximately at 6:27 (local time), while the next quake, measuring at 4,9 followed on 8:18, according to Seismological Center at the Tehran University's Geophysics Institute.

The latest reports indicate that there were no injured or dead as a result of two quakes.

Another earthquake measuring 5.2 on Richter scale jolted adjoining areas of Zohan in Qayenot city in South Khorasan province on Sunday, Sept. 2.

On August 11, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake rocked Iran's East Azerbaijan Province killing more than 300 people and injuring about 2,500.

The epicentre of the earthquake was in the cities of Ahar, Varzaqan and Heris. Some 115 villages were completely or partially destroyed as a result of tremors.
