Iranian Ambassador to UN Mohammad Khazaee asked the U.S. to punish anti-Islam filmmaker, who made a controversial film titled "Innocent Muslims", IRNA reported.

The release of the film sparkled angry assaults by ultra-conservative Muslims on U.S. missions in Egypt and Libya, where a U.S. ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed.

Khazaee underscored that such actions would lead to intense conflicts among religions, nations and cultures.

"We can not accept that U.S. compromises against the anti-Islam film producers with adlibbing speech freedom and condemns," Khazaee said, adding that Iran expects the U.S. to set serious punishment against those, who has scorned Islam.

Yesterday, Friday's Prayer, worshippers in Iran joined others on the streets of the country to march in protest of controversial, anti-Islamic film. The people marched in front of Tehran University, shouting slogans, and condemning the release of the film.
