Iran and Syrian will hold the negotiations on the Syrian crisis that has been going on for more than 1,5 years, IRNA reported.

Yesterday, Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met with his Egyptian, and Turkish counterparts on Syria, and expressed hope that the countries would reach a peaceful solution to Syria crisis while considering their common principles on the issue.

Salehi today has met Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi, and after Egypt he will fly off to Syria.

In Syria, Salehi is scheduled to meet with Syrian officials, including Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad and Foreign Minister Waled Al-Muallem.

The sides will discuss possible ways of ending the Syrian crisis in the country.

Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for a year and half. According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 20,000.

More than 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
