Iran's new defence system "RAD" was developed to fight the U.S. military aircrafts, Fars news agency reported with the reference to IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps) Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh.

"By demonstrating this power we state that nobody will be allowed to even think about the attack on Iran," Hajizadeh said.

Iran has unveiled a brand new anti-aircraft defence system "RAD"at the military parade being held in Tehran during the Holy Defense Week. The new system belongs to Iran's IRGC and is able to fire missiles within 50 km range.

Today, Iran is holding the Holy Defense Week, which is celebrated annually in Iran to commemorate those who died during the Iran-Iraq War.

The Iran-Iraq War began on Sept. 22, 1980 when the Iraqi army attacked the Iranian province of Khuzistan.

The war ended with a ceasefire agreement on August 1988. The border between the two countries remained unchanged.
