President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is in New York to attend the 67th annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly was interviewed by CNN and Washington Post upon his arrival there, IRNA reported.

The questions raised by chief editor of Washington Post focused on threats by the "Zionist regime" against Iran and Islamic awakening (Arab spring).

The worldwide protests by Muslims who became angry at anti-Islam movie by an American-Israeli filmmaker and widespread reaction of Middle East people to disrespecting the holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and their fury of US politicians were among other topics and questions raised in the interviews by CNN's Piers Morgan and Washington Post's David Ignatius.

CNN's Piers Morgan with sudden change in his questions tried to find out about President Ahmadinejad's opinion about the US Republican and Democrat candidates, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, but the president responded to him that he does not want to express his opinion in such a way as to interfere in the US internal affairs.

"The US people know better themselves how to determine their own fate. However, I know that they hate war and bloodshed," President Ahmadinejad said.

By interrupting President Ahmadinejad's speech several times, CNN's interviewer (Morgan) tried to find out his opinion about the Holocaust, the support by the US presidents from the so-called "gay rights" and some other policies dictated by the West, particularly their support for the "Zionist regime" in the "Occupied Territories".

President Ahmadinejad who was aware of Morgan's intention told him that "you want to hear your desired responses from me and it is a sort of dictatorship and it is not right to expect all other nations to think as you do and act like you if you support homosexuality for instance."

"Our (Islamic Republic of Iran's) stance on the issue of Palestine is quite clear and as we have always said everyone should help to decide about their homeland in a free and fair atmosphere and it is then that we will support their decision," he added.

Morgan said that his interview with President Ahmadinejad was very interesting and the President's responses were clever and unprecedented.

President Ahmadinejad will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in the coming hours.
