Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran's diplomacy in Syria is preventing that country's crisis from becoming more deepened, as well as trying to bring back stability and tranquility to the Arab country, IRNA reported.

Speaking in a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region (KRG) Nechirvan Barzani in Tehran on Sunday, the Iranian foreign minister said that Iran proposes holding talks between the government and different opposition groups and participating these groups in the country's political process.

Salehi expressed hope the talks between Iranian and Iraqi Kurdistan Region's officials would remove all the existing problems and pave the way for enhancement of bilateral ties between the two sides.

Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region (KRG) Nechirvan Barzani, for his part, said that his visit to Tehran pursues preparing the grounds for inviting the Iranian investors to take part in the Iraqi Kurdistan's projects.

Pointing to an upcoming visit by Iranian Vice President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou to Iraqi Kurdistan's Erbil city, Barzani expressed hope that holding the first economic cooperation summit between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan region will pave the way for further expansion of trade and economic relations between the two sides.
