Iran today started the second day of "Velayat 4" military drills, Mehr reported.

At the current stage of exercises, Iran is set to test its "Haq" medium-range anti-aircraft defense missile system, which was first unveiled in 2011.

Further on, the anti-aircraft gun - Oerlikon 35 mm twin cannon, which has been enhanced with laser rangefinder, will be tested as well.

The second-day drills is also set to feature Iran's attack bombers, fighter jets and drones engaging in war-like operations in country's provinces, immitating real-time fighting with enemy.

The drills are taking place in 8 provinces of Iran - - North Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, Sistan & Baluchestan, Kerman, Hormozgan, Yazd and Fars.

Last week, the Commander of Khatam Al-Anbiya base Farzad Esmaili said that the drills would be supervised by the Khatam Al-Anbiya base, while Iranian army, IRGC and Basij forces would jointly participate.

Iran has previously held "Velayat 3" drills in 2011, where an array of of fighter jets, fighter bombers, cargo and transportation planes, including F-4, F-5, SU-24 fighter-bombers, Mig-29 and the logistic C-130 planes were showcased.
