Jalili calls for durable Iran-Japan relations to proceed

Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili on Saturday emphasized the need to proceed with durable relations and cooperation between Iran and Japan, IRNA reported.

In a meeting with Japanese Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Akitaka Saiki, Jalili said long-term friendship of the two countries necessitates expansion of bilateral relations in a durable and independent manner.

Referring to 24-year successful experience of Iran to develop relations with other countries, he said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been defending its rights and interests, and its capacities to gain remarkable achievements.

Saiki for his part termed Iran-Japan relations historical and amicable.

He called for promotion of the two-way cooperation in the framework of mutual interests.
