An Iranian delegation is due to visit the Turkish city of Istanbul to attend an expert-level meeting with representatives of the P5+1 group of six major world powers, Press TV reports.

The delegation of Iranian experts will be in Istanbul on Sunday to hold talks with experts representing the P5+1 (Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany).

At their latest round of talks which was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on February 26-27, Iran and the P5+1 agreed to hold an "expert-level" meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, on March 17-18.

Both sides have expressed hope and optimism about the future of the talks. On February 28, Reuters quoted an unnamed Western diplomat as said about the Almaty meeting that, "This was more constructive and more positive than previous meetings because they were really focusing on the proposal on the table."

In an interview with the Austrian broadcaster, ORF, on March 1, Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi described the latest round of the talks as a "milestone" and a "turning point in the negotiations."

Iran and the P5+1 group have held several rounds of talks with the main focus on Iran's nuclear energy program. Before their last meeting in Almaty, the two sides had met in the Russian capital city of Moscow, in June 2012.
